2007 STREET STOCK RULES
** INDICATES 2007 CHANGES
Street
Models:
1) Must be 1964 or later American manufactured vehicle
2) Minimum wheel base of 105 inches.
3) No wagons, Convertibles, or Vettes.
4) Wheel Base must remain stock.
Bodies:
1) After market bodies ok (must be steel and stock appearing). Hood and roof may be fiber glass. No late model bodies allowed.
2) All panels must appear stock no less than 20 gauge steel.
3) 6 inch high deck lid spoiler ok . (No boxing)
4) Body skirts ok.
5 If air filter goes through hood The back 50% must be covered with hood scoop no taller than 2 1/2 inches.
6) Nerf bars between front and rear tires are allowed 1 1/4 tubing allowed or flat stock must run parallel to ground and may not extend 2 inches outside of tire.
7) Fire wall must be in stock location. No holes. May fabricate but in stock location
8) No modification to hood for radiator clearance.
9) May interchange bodies within corporate lines.
10) Reinforcement of frame rails ok.
11) Windshield must be replaced with protective material (screen or bars).
12) Right side of floor pan may be raised to top of frame rails. For muffler clearance
Bumpers:
1) All bumper must be located in stock location.
2) Tubular bumper may be used (must be capped and curved at ends).
3) Both bumpers must be strapped to fenders or frame rails. 3 inches wide
4) All bumpers must have safety chains.
5) Bumpers must have tow strap.
Seat and Seat Belts:
1) All seats must be padded aluminum-racing seats.
2) Seats must securely mounted to roll cage.
3) Seat belts must be 5 point racing type 3 inch. Not older than 2 years.
4) All belts must be kept in great condition.
5) Seat belts must be bolted to roll cage with 5/16 aircraft bolts or larger.
Chassis and Suspension:
1) Weight jacks ok.
2) Leaf spring sliders ok.
3) Tubular upper A-arms ok (stock location only).
4) Racing shocks and springs ok.
5) May move front shocks for clearance.
6) May move rear shocks
7) Rear springs must be mounted in stock location.
8) Rear frame may be fabricated but must be of same size metal and in same location as to allow for proper spring placement. Spring mount may be outside of frame well as long as it is in stock location.
9) All cars must have original type suspension in stock location.
10) No mono-leaf springs.
11) 1 shock per wheel.
12) Bite bolts ok.
13) No aluminum shocks
14) rack & pinion OK if (stock) for make and model. Must be stock
Rear ends:
1) No quick change rear ends allowed.
2) Must be steel or cast iron housing.
3) Locked rear ends ok (Welded or spools only).
4) Any American manufactured rear ends ok.
5) Must be mounted in stock location.
6) OEM drive shaft only no aluminum.
7) Drive line must be painted white with number.
8) 2 drive line loops, 1 in front and 1 in back.
Intake Manifold:
1) Any after market or stock manifold ok.
2) Max. 1 inch spacer for carburetor.
3) Max. height of intake 7 1/2 inch from valley to top of intake.
4) No modification to intake allowed.
5) Metal air cleaners mandatory.
6) Must have 2 throttle return springs.
7) Must have toe strap.
8) No throttle cables allowed.
Exhaust:
1) Must run a muffle not to exceed 95 db at 100 feet.
2) No exhaust of any inside car.
3) No 180 deg. headers.
4) Right side floor pan may be raised to top of frame rails to allow room of exhaust (all others stock).
5) All exhaust must extend past drivers seat.
6) Exhaust must have straps or chains at front and rear.
Ignitions:
1) No magnetos Allowed.
2) Battery may be located in trunk area.
3) battery must be mounted in a container and securely mounted.
4) Ignition and battery must have on and off switch in red or yellow, placed to the left of driver must be able to reach from outside of car.
Starters:
1) All cars must have a working starter.
2) All starters must be in stock location.
Numbers:
1) All numbers must be at least 20 inches tall and 3 inches wide!!!
2) All cars must have numbers on both sides and roof.
3) Use colors that scorekeepers can read.
4) No Silver or metallic numbers allowed
Fuel and Fuel Systems:
1) No electric fuel pumps.
2) Any fuel line running through drivers compartment must be in steel sleeve.
3) All cars must have fuel cell.
4) Drivers area must be sealed from both engine and fuel cell.
5) Cell must be in steel container.
6) Cells may not be any lower than bottom of third member.
7) Must have roll over valve.
8) Gasoline only.
9) Fuel shut off Mandatory Must be painted Red or Yellow and easily accessible.
Wheels and Tires:
1) Maximum 8 inch wheels.
2) Any advertised 8" DOT dirt racing tire allowed.
3) The track tire for all members will be HOOSIER p245-60-15/p255-60-15/p265-60-15 soft-medium (this tire must run to receive points and award money).
4) Bead locks ok.
5) All tire identification must be visible.
6) No re grooving
Weight:
1) Must weight at least 3000 lbs with driver at all times.
2) All weights must be painted white with car number on it.
3) All mounting must be secure.
4) If you lose a weight on the track you will be disqualified.
Engines:
1) GM to GM Ford to Ford must match make of car.
2) Maximum cubic inch 365. Engine will be checked until gauge stops
3) Any cast iron head 23 deg. + or - 1 deg. NO porting or polishing
4) No roller cams or lifters.
5) Any connecting rod (no aluminum or titanium).
6) Engine must stay in stock location #1 spark plug must not be set back further than center of ball joint.
7) Roller rockers ok.
8) No dry sump oiling systems.
9) Fluid type balancers ok.
10) Aluminum water pumps ok
.
Carburetor:
1) 1 Holley 4412 - 2 barrel.
2) No altering or modification allowed.
3) May change jets and remove choke.
Clutch and Transmission:
1) Any clutch may be used.
2) All transmissions must be stock production type.
3) Must have a working forward, reverse, and neutral.
4) Aluminum fly wheel ok.
5) Auto transmissions may use coupler instead of torque converter.
6) All transmissions must have explosion type bell housing or cover.
7) Any coolers must not be in drivers compartment.
Brakes:
1) Must have at least 3 working brakes.
2) Adjustable valves ok.
Steering:
1) Must be mounted in stock location.
2) Quickener allowed.
3) No rack and pinion allowed.
4) After market power steering pumps ok.
Roll Cage:
1) Full roll cage is mandatory.
2) .095 or heavier seamless.
3) Gussets required on all 90 deg. joints.
4) Minimum of 4 door bars on drivers side.
5) Roll Cage may extend up to the front of the frame horn for radiator support.
6) Roll Cage may go to rear of car inside car.
7) All bars close to driver must be padded.
8) 1/8 in thick door plate must be mounted to drivers side cage
Safety Stuff:
1) Neck braces and gloves mandatory.
2) Nomex-type racing fire suit mandatory. No holes-no tears must be kept clean.
3) Fire extinguisher securely mounted in car. ( within drivers reach)
4) Full faced helmet SA95 or newer must be in good shape. No M style helmet allowed.
5) Drivers side window net mandatory.
6) Seat belts no older than 2 years.
7) Helmet SA 95 or newer Full faced. NO M style allowed.
